Emma trained as a dental hygienist and therapist at Cardiff University, qualifying in 2011. Upon qualifying, Emma began working for the hospital dental service, predominantly seeing patients who were undergoing treatment for cancer in the head and neck region. She also saw patients with complex medical needs and those with severe and aggressive periodontal disease. This was often challenging work but provided Emma with invaluable experience.
In 2013 Emma joined the hygiene team at a private specialist periodontal practice in Cardiff. Working closely with specialist periodontists, she would provide referral patients with treatment for their gum disease as well as stabilising patients in preparation for the placement of dental implants. It was here that she met her future North Cardiff Dental & Implant colleagues.
Emma prides herself in providing patients with a high standard of clinical care alongside a friendly and personalised dental experience. She focuses on educating patients on their dental diseases and likes to work with patients to empower them to take control of their long-term oral health.
Emma is also particularly interested in dental implants. In 2017 she was a guest speaker at the Association of Dental Implants Members’ National Forum in Manchester, where she lectured on the topic of a team approach to preventing and treating patients with periodontitis and peri-implant diseases.
Emma has a passion for facial aesthetic treatments and is able to offer anti-wrinkle treatments here at North Cardiff Dental & Implants.
Emma currently splits her time between her hometown of Cardiff and rural Ireland, where her husband is from. They have 2 children. Emma loves spending time with her family and exploring the great outdoors.
